University of Maryland Global Campus accepts many industry-standard certifications and professional courses for college credit. To be considered for credit, please send a record of your industry certification(s) to studentrecords@umgc.edu after you apply to UMGC. Computer certifications must have been earned within the past five years to be considered.

If you earned the SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP certification on Jan. 1, 2017 or later, you may be able to earn up to 9 credits for courses that are required as part of UMGC’s curriculum for undergraduate human resource management programs. The certifications articulate to UMGC courses as follows:
